[No.3] Homestay 2012 (Dennis & Matt)

Time flies, they had to leave today to go back to the states.
So yesterday, we had farewell party at 新阪急ホテル and we all enjoyed it so much.

They made a short skit, singing Skiyaki song and presenting one character they chose and a short thank you speech. All of them were very heart-warming and I was moved.

We also had a farewell dinner party at home. They are holding presents from us, cool shirt for Matt and cute Jinbei(甚平) for Dennis's daughter.

And today, right before the departure, we took a photo together.
Thank you Dennis and Matt for such a fun time and looking forward to seeing you again!!!

[No.2] Homestay 2012 (Dennis & Matt)

Because Dennis is fond of Lighthouse, we visited 旧堺灯台 in Sakai city. It was a national holiday, a day of Marine, so they opened the lighthouse and we could come inside, very lucky! Though was extremely hot, inside was surprisingly cool, with nice breeze from the sea and hot air moving upward to the top.
>Dennis, I just remembered you wanted to know how to write the name of the light house. Sorry! I forgot to tell you, but here it is. Now you know how to write it in Japanese.
旧堺灯台Kyu-Sakai Todai (old sakai lighthouse)

It was very nice of them going to glossary store buying necessary ingredients for dinner. I thought I would never have a chance to take a photo of foreigners shopping at a local supermarket lol So here it is.

Another day, we went to 海遊館(kai yu kan) a very famous aquarium in Osaka.
At the place where we had lunch,  there were very interesting ladies working and serving foods. They spoke English and Chinese (conversational level) and kept talking to me. Asking me how old I am and if I am married and etc. They were typical 大阪のおばちゃんw

During their stay, there were 6 people in my house in total. Aki, Tyrone, Dennis, Matt, Sayo and I. hahahaha, it was such a HUGE family!!!
Big daddy (Dennis) Small mom (Sayo) Small daddy(ME) and 3 brothers. hahaha

We had lots of FUN!

[No.1] Homestay 2012 (Dennis & Matt)

We had 2 guests from Alabama this week through my company and we had lots of fun!!!
Though the schedule was quite tight and tiring, we had so much fun with them and it is such a great experience and friendship we could make through this program.

First we went to Ninja Camp in Iga.

On the way to Iga in Mie prefecture, we stopped by at a road station(道の駅)like a service area and we took this picture. Doesn't it look weird? There was a big metal ball and ourselves are reflection on the ball. On the left is Dennis, and the right is Matt.

At the ninja camp, we tried various ninja techniques, throwing shuriken, climbing up a wall, and at the end, we had to cross a river on a floating pad. This was pretty tough and I dropped into the river... look at my photo, I am soaked lol  We both made to the other side of the river bank though.

After all the training, we received a certificate of becoming the Ninja of IGA! Yay!
On the left, Dennis is trying to buy a can of juice, first time ever to spend money in Japan! ^^
And we had dinner at 回転寿司. At first, they seems confused of what we eat. So Sayo and I kept taking whatever the dishes and feeding them until FULL! hehe
